Dora Anne Mills, M.D., M.P.H., is currently the Vice President for Clinical Affairs at the University of New England.  Prior to her post at UNE, Ms. Mills served as the director of the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention under Governors Angus King and John Baldacci.  A pediatrician by training, she is widely recognized for her public health accomplishments, including reducing Maine’s rate of tobacco use, teen pregnancy and childhood obesity.


Dr. Erik Steele, D.O., FAAFP, is the Chief Medical Officer at Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems, a role he has served in since 2005.  His principle project in the CMO role is the system's signature Zero Defects Project, which has set as a system wide goal the elimination of preventable medical errors by 2012, and sets zero as the default target for performance improvement projects.  Prior to serving as the CMO, he was vice president for patient care services at EMMC, a 420 tertiary referral center in central Maine.  He remains a practicing family physician, works in rural Maine emergency departments one night a week as the ED physician on duty and is a healthcare columnist for the Bangor Daily News.  He is also the co-chair of the Maine Governor's Council on Physical Fitness.
